Day 6: My friend Tweedus

Posted by: beck

Soooo, as you can see, I've been throwing parties for my friend Tweedus the Chicken. It was just one phone call, I swear. Next thing I knew, Tweedus invited his friend Tweedus, then his cousins came over, all 3 named Tweedus. Pretty soon there were stale cookies and Trix all over the living room with chickens drunk on high fructose corn syrup.

Day 5: The Luau

Posted by: jaime

Today's main activity was the Luau at the Gaylord Plantation near Lihue. We signed up to take the bus from the resort so we could get wasted. Just kidding. Check in for the bus was at 3:30 pm. But we had things to prior to that. Beginning with an always entertaining timeshare presentation.

Day 4: Na Pali Coast Catamaran Cruise

Posted by: jaime

We actually had to set an alarm to get up this morning. We had to be out the door by 5:30 am to head to the south side of the island to Port Allen. Our activity: a half-day catamaran cruise up the Na Pali coast line. This coast line can only be seen by boat or air and boasts many Hollywood movies like 6 days 7 nights and Jurassic Park to name a couple. A catamaran, for those that don't know, is like a big sail boat with a motor. There were probably about 30 people not including the crew of 5.

Day 3: 2 caches, a lighthouse, and the beach, oh my!

Posted by: jaime

Cocka-doodle-doo at 5:30 am which sounds more like a screech than a rousing morning call. Which is continuous at 1 minute intervals (or so it seems) until about 6:30 am. Its more annoying than anything. We have been going to bed at about 8 - 8:30 pm so we are usually waking up at that time anyway.

Day 2: Jellyfish sting no matter how small

Posted by: jaime

We began our day with a morning trip to the Kilauea Lighthouse. It is the northern most tip of Kauai and also a national bird and wildlife sanctuary. And of course we had another geocache to locate (ie treasure). Coincidentally, the treasure was located at the entrance to the lighthouse which upon arrival was closed for another hour. So we snooped about to locate the treasure which Beck and Jamie quickly found. We looked at the lighthouse from the look out at the entrance. And we made our mark on the "autograph" tree. It was now 9:10 am - 50 more minutes until the gate opened. So we decided to trek further, find somewhere cool to hang for a bit and comeback.

Day 1: The sticker read "Do not get the key wet"

Posted by: jaime

Day 1 in paradise began with an early morning, before the sun is up, wake up call from Beck. We all slept together in the big bed in our room and Beck pleasantly woke us up with the announcement that he'd "had enough sleep." It was 5:30 am local time. The sun was NOT up. It was dark. So we got up. Beck was pretty excited and decided that we could stay at this "house" for a while.

Happy New Year

Posted by: jaime

Well the holiday season is far behind us now, but it was wonderful having Beck to share it with. He handled all the running around to various Christmas celebrations very well. He got to see many family members and open many presents! Santa must have thought he was a pretty good boy!

The end of 2005

Posted by: LT050704

We had much to celebrate this year and we are looking forward to what 2006 will bring us! December in particular was eventful. Maddox turned 5 months old, Claire lost a tooth and Lucas, gracefully, survived smashing up his little green car!
